Maryville Homecoming

We went to the Maryville Homecoming last weekend. We tried to get Emily to ride some rides but she didn’t want any part of it. Uncle Jamie almost got her on the cars but she just didn’t want to do it. She did go down the Super Slide with Daddy and Maddie. She doesn’t look very excited in these pictures but she really did like it. She also likes the parade. I thought the fire engine sirens would scare her but she did just fine. She wouldn’t even sit with Daddy and me. She sat with Aunt Lisa the entire time. She’s getting to be such a big girl. Sniff, sniff. :(

My friend "Conan"

This Christopher Robin doll is Emily’s new buddy. But Rob and I think it looks a lot like Conan O’Brien so of course that is what we call him. It is so cute to watch her play with him. She’ll hold him out to look at him and "talk" to him and she carries him from room to room with her. She loves to give him big hugs and kisses, as you can see in the pictures.

Emily likes to go everywhere with it now. Let’s see…he’s gone to church, the Maryville Homecoming and every car ride for the last few days.

I also posted a picture of Conan so you can see how much they look alike. Check out the matching hair swoop. ;)

Mommy's new bike

I got a new recumbent bike a couple of weeks ago and just let me tell you that I love it!! I know it looks a little crazy but it is really easy to ride and it isn’t a pain in the butt, literally. I have already logged 47 miles on it. I have only pulled Emily’s trailer once. Rob usually pulls it but I went by myself that day. As long as we don’t go around Emmy’s nap time she loves it. We really look forward to a summer of riding.

Fun on the 4th of July

We had a pretty exciting 4th of July. We got to eat great BBQ thanks to Uncle Jamie and Aunt Lisa and then we went swimming, jumped on a trampoline and watched some fireworks.
Emily took it all in stride, even staying up until 11 o’clock that night. I really didn’t know how she would react to the fireworks but I didn't need to worry about that because she loved them. By the end of the night she was even oohing and aweing at them. We thought she would sit with us during the show but she wanted to be a big girl and sit with the other kids. Hopefully she’ll be the same way next year.

Short slide

Do you think my poor girl needs a bigger slide? She’s so funny, she still says, "wee" when she sits down on the slide. She doesn’t get to go very far on this one but she still seems to enjoy it. I guess I’m going to have to start hitting the yard sales again to find her a longer one.
