Great Godfrey Corn Maze

A couple of weeks ago we went to the Great Godfrey Corn Maze for the first time. I didn’t get any pictures of us actually in the corn maze but I did get some of Emily in the corn box (just like a sandbox but with corn). She had a blast playing in all that corn. I wish you could have seen how much corn we poured out of her shoes when we got home. I really don’t know how she was able to walk normally with all that in her shoes. Daddy also got her this neat sucker that turned her mouth black. So of course her face, her shirt, her pants and my shirt were all black too. But it was worth it because we had such a good time.

Cuddle time with Daddy

Rob’s mom let me borrow her camera to download the pictures that were on our camera, which as you know is dead. So now Emily has a new "toy camera". She loves to carry it around saying "cheese" and "smile". She is such a hoot.
Anyway, this picture was taken a couple of weeks ago. We were just watching TV and Emily climbed up on Daddy’s lap and gave him a big hug. She is starting to cuddle alot more now, it’s really nice.

She is definately growing up

Exciting things are happening at the Monroe house. Emily now has her very own potty-chair and she has gone pee pee in it 3 times already. Woo hoo!! We’re not really pushing it yet we are just letting her get used to it. She just loves sitting on it and saying "my potty chair." She is so funny.

By the way it may be a little while until I post any new pictures. We dropped our camera one too many times and it is now dead. I can’t even download the pictures that are currently on the camera. I’m going to put a new camera on layaway sometime this week so hopefully we won’t be out of commission for too long. You know me I have to take lots of pictures so I’m kinda having picture taking withdrawls right now. :(

Growing up too fast

As much as I don’t want to admit it…my little girl is growing up. At church they moved her up to the 2-year-old room. I’m a little sad about it for a couple of reasons. One, she’s my baby and I don’t want her to grow up so fast. And two, we loved the teachers she had in the one year old room. Mr. Dale loves to get on the floor and play with the kids and Miss Judy just loves them up like you wouldn’t believe. I feel really blessed that they are part of Emily’s life.

I’m not completely sad about this transition. I know Emily is going to have a great time in her new class. She is such a social bug. She will make friends no matter where she goes. I’m really excited about her learning more and more about Jesus.

My little lighting bug

Emily’s new Sunday school teacher came by the house today to give Emily her very own flashlight. There was a tag attached that said,
"God made the light and dark. Genesis 1:3-5
Enjoy the flashlight, having fun making your own light and dark."

So I just had to teach her how to look like a lighting bug. Yep…she’s my girl.

The princess

Well as you can see…it’s official, she is a princess. It is something I have always thought but now I have proof. lol ;~)
She is so funny. She doesn’t like to wear hats but she wore this silly thing all through lunch and then all the way home in the car.

Trip to the zoo

Emily and I went to the zoo last week with Aunt Julie and Kevin. It was our first trip without the stroller and I was pleasantly surprised at how well Emmy did. The one problem we had was that her jean skirt was too big and kept slipping down past her bottom. We kept pulling it up but sure enough as soon as she would take a couple of steps it was down again. Luckily I had an extra outfit in her diaper bag so we changed clothes after about a half an hour. Other than that little snafu we had a great time.I LOVE this picture.~~She's watching a butterfly.

Skirt falling down below her bottom.
She's trying to pull her skirt up by herself.
Outfit #2~~I'm not sure why she has this expression but I call it her "monkey face".
Watching the chimp eat treats.

Science Center

We were supposed to have Rob’s company picnic last weekend but it got rained out. So we decided to take Emily to the Science Center. You just gotta love free entertainment. Emily had a blast. She really liked playing with the blocks and making music with Daddy.

More cake

As you can tell Emmy really enjoyed Daddy’s birthday cake. She was even rubbing it all over her arms like it was lotion. She got right in the bathtub after this.

Fashion Statement

Emily found her Daddy’s belt and just had to wear it. She refused to let me take it off of her once she had it on so she ran around the house in this silly thing all afternoon.
